READING THE POSTCARD ALBUM OF CAROLINA ATTANASIO (1913-1942)

Abstract

My proposal in this text is to present the procedures that I have utilized to interpret implicit and explicit messages contained in a postcard album that has belonged to an ItaloBrazilian woman named Carolina Attanasio. That album contains postcards mailed between 1911 and 1942. Besides the images and texts I shows that the album is a self memory construction of Carolina. The album reading permits a privileged view of the human sensibility by that time and also allows to articulate the personal life to general happenings.

Flávia Arlanch Oliveira, Paulista State University UNESP

Possui graduação em Graduação Em História pela Universidade de São Paulo (1970), mestrado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1977) , doutorado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1992) e Pós Doutorado pela Universidade de Nápoles/Itália(1998). Atualmente é professor assistente doutor da Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, Campus de Assis. Tem experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História do Brasil República, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: cidade, cultura, política, identidade e imigração.
