Graduado, Máster y Doctor en Historia por la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), en Chile. Miembro de la Comisión de Historia del Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia (IPGH) de la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA), en México.
