Abstract

Flexal de Óbidos is a traditional community located on dry land in the lower Amazon region of Pará. This article explores the intersection of culture and memorial with a focus on the heritage of traditional communities that have a cultural life intrinsically linked to the Amazon rainforest. The objective is to present the results of the research, offering a cultural perspective on the life of the community, based on the appreciation of its cultural, historical, memorial and natural heritage. The research was carried out in loco, with a qualitative approach, generating an inventory of the heritage of living memory, with a bibliographic review and discussion of the data collected. The study revealed that the myths, festivities and memories of the traditional community play a crucial role in the preservation and transmission of local values ​​and in the formation of collective memories. It is concluded that the appreciation of the cultural heritage related to the district of Flexal is fundamental for the preservation of its sociocultural heritage.
