Mário de Andrade as a cultural manager
Keywords:
public cultural policies, Mário de Andrade, Departamento de Cultura da cidade de São Paulo, Brazilian national identityAbstract
The work aims to discuss Mário de Andrade's role as a cultural manager from the perspective of the history of cultural policies in Brazil, without fragmenting this role from his other facets as a writer, essayist, and poet. This integrative view of Mário de Andrade as both a writer and a manager provides a new perspective on how he understood nationalism and the "Brazilian national entity."
