the clash between Ferréz and Luciano Huck

Abstract

In 2007, the main newspapers of the country published the clash involving Rede Globo host, Luciano Huck, and the writer Férrez, an outstanding articulate writer of the peripheral voices in literature. Luciano Huck had his Rolex watch stolen by two people on a motorcycle, in an upper-class neighborhood in São Paulo. The next and decisive move was an article written by the victim, under the title of Pensamentos quase póstumos, published in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo. The article raised immediate reactions. The one written by Ferréz expressing his point of view had an intense reverberation and it was published in the same space of the newspaper, under the title of Pensamentos de um correria, later published in Os ricos também morrem (2015). From the above, this essay aims to raise and analyze the divergences which involve those protagonists in the field of thoughts, taking into account the irradiation of issues related to the social, historical and cultural context.
