DA PALMEIRA AO CHÃO (“DARANDINA”, DE GUIMARÃES ROSA)

Abstract

In this essay, we intend to examine some artifices used by João Guimarães Rosa (1908-1967) observing the construction of the plot and the characters in the short story “Darandina”, that was published in Primeiras Estórias (1962). In this analysis, we point out the relevance of the symbolical elements present in the narrative, regarding to accurate the decoding and the interpretation of a literary work.
