Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the photographic montage called Thirty Valérios, in which the author, Valerio Vieira, is photographed in thirty poses in negative glass plates, thereby forming the staging of a soiree. The intended focus is the recovery and understanding of the work, retracing the path taken by the author when creating the montage, and intertwining it with the discussion of issues such as the relationship between art and biography, and the inclusion of the work in question in the context of the history of photography.

Author Biography

Daisy Camargo, Paulista State University UNESP

Possui graduação e mestrado em História pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1998). Doutorado em História pela Universidade Estadual Paulista - Campus de Assis, com bolsa Fapesp. Trabalhou no Museu da Imagem e do Som de São Paulo, no Memorial do Imigrante e no CONDEPHAAT. Tem experiência na área de Patrimônio, Arquivos, Iconografia e História, com ênfase em História do Brasil Império e República, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: anarquismo, imprensa, cultura material e história das sensibilidades. Possui artigos publicados em revistas científicas.
