Abstract

ABSTRACT:The present study aims to introduce the feuilleton novel Amores Malditos: Manuscrito de Luiz Magro, written by Luiz Ramos Figueira and published in the São Paulo academic periodical Imprensa Acadêmica (1864-1871). To this end, the research contextualizes the circles of law students in São Paulo and their interpretations of the various representations of women in literature. Furthermore, the concept of the Double, as studied by psychoanalyst Otto Rank, is employed to analyze the representation of the femme fatale, revealing a distinctive interpretation of this enduring theme within the Western literary tradition.
